Stone Soup Garden      Spring 2008

The Stone Soup Garden is a project of the Helfenstein Soup Council, Inc. whose purpose is:

  • to improve our health by working and exercising in the garden and eating healthy food with no chemicals added
  • to improve our minds by learning about sustainability and the importance of eating & buying food locally
  • to get in touch with our spirit by developing a connection with mother earth

It is meant to be an educational and spiritual resource to the community.

It is our belief that so many of us have lost our connection to the earth and the source of our food and that the current system is unsustainable to our society. We believe that everyone would benefit from learning how to grow their food. That unhealthy chemicals are added to our food and they are shipped many miles using up valuable resources when the best food is the food you grow in your backyard. And that having a relationship with the earth and your food is good for your soul.

We encourage you to join us this season to learn how to start your own garden or to be a part of our community garden.

HSC Gardens are located at UW- Ext community garden on HWY 54. And Baird Creek perennial garden location at ……..
