2007 Earth Day Events
The Helfenstein Soup Council is proud to be one of many sponsor's for the 2007 Earth Week Events!!!!
Earth Day 2006 was celebrated all week throughout Green Bay with educational speakers, social hours, EcoJam, Leave Your Car at Home Day, an EcoFair, clean-ups at Baird Creek and Joannes Park, and more!
Over the course of the week, over 1,000 Green Bay-area residents participated in the various activities. One of the most successful events was Leave Your Car at Home Day, which was started in 2005, by the eco-club at East High School. In 2006, hundreds of students, faculty and staff, and community members walked, biked, bused, and car-pooled to school or work on the Thursday before Earth Day.
Another great event was the annual Baird Creek Clean-Up. Over 200 area students and residents helped do some spring cleaning by picking up trash, removing invasive species, and helping with trail repair in the parkway. ( GREAT FOR HIGH SCHOOL SERVICE/VOLUNTEER HOURS!)
